Switchblade Symphony - Witches

Switchblade Symphony is a near perfect blend of eerie melodies and electronic squall.

This video is a fan-compilation set to their song "Witches":

Queen of the Damned

Here's Forsaken from Queen of the Damned, based on a blend of Anne Rice's novels The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned.

If you don't know that movie...well, you probably shouldn't be on this website...

A Dark Russian Ballet

Here's the video for Agoniya from the Russian musician, Linda.

Her work has always been interesting -- from her Tibetan Buddhist-inspired early work, to her Goth/Industrial "Opusti Menya" and "Vorona", to this dark ballet we see here:

Happy Halloween!

Hey all - Happy Halloween!

Two videos in honor of Samhain:

Everynight Is Halloween by The Beautiful Deadly Children

And a contemplative look at what happens to unloved jack-o-lanterns:

So You Want to Be Goth

OK, this isn't a Goth music video (though the closing song for this video is rather fun).
However, especially with Halloween approaching (which means all the Goth posers will be coming out of the woodwork), this video is a real blast.

I've been in the scene since the late '80's and I have to say that this video is just hilarious.

"So You've Decided You Want to Become a Goth"

Enjoy:

Melt - The Catching of the Butterfly

Here is another one of those fan compilations for a song that never got a video, but deserved one.

This is for the song
Melt - The Catching of the Butterfly from the one album done under the name (note the spelling shift) The Nefilim, that album being the 1996 release Zoon. The Nefilim was Carl McCoy's first project after the break-up of the original Fields of the Nephilim. The slow build and eventual demonic grind of the song are given a nice visual accompaniment in this fan video:

Lesbian Bed Death

Nice. I dig the Vampire Sex Queen vibe.

Check out their MySpace page for more music from their March 2006 album I Use My Powers for Evil. To get more info on what they're up to, as well as photos, etc., go to the band's official website.

Fields of the Nephilim - Sumerland

"Sumerland" is from Fields of the Nephilim's simply amazing album Elizium. It is hard to believe that this was recorded in 1990... It still sounds fresh today!

I cannot recommend Elizium enough. The whole album is a truly defining work of art in the Atmospheric Goth Rock genre.

Mission UK - Tower of Strength

Here's one from the goth music vault - "Tower of Strength" by the Mission UK.

The Mission is one of those bands that helped broaden what one could consider 'goth'. Like the best bands of any genre, the Mission is difficult to categorize in a neat little box. You'll see what I mean in "Tower of Strength".

NFD - Light My Way

Welcome to the first entry in The Goth Music Video Blog!
I am D. And I'll be serving up some cool, and sometimes rare videos (I've been collecting these links for some time now).

Every week, I'll post a video from an established, or up-and-coming band.

And if you know of a good goth vid that ought to be included here, go ahead and tell me about it (and don't forget to include a link to it) in the Comments.

This Week's Goth Music Video:

Here's NFD - originally "Noise for Destruction". They play live mostly in the UK - and are damn good at what they do.

Check out the video for "Light My Way" from their June 2006 album Dead Pool Rising.
